Grace of the Holy Spirit

I Corinthians 13:13 But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.

Faith is our growing relationship with God. It is a vital ingredient for fellowship with God.

Faith is the way to God -
Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him."

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God -
Romans 10:17 "So belief [cometh] of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."

Faith is expressed in action -
James 2:17-18 "Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from [thy] works, and I by my works will show thee [my] faith.

Faith is how to be free of worry -
Hebrews 13:5-6 "Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee. So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

Faith gives us confidence with God -
Ephesians 3:12 "in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him."

Hope is looking unto Jesus rather than our problems, In Him we see the possibilities rather than the circumstances that are bothering us -
I Timothy 1:1 "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Saviour, and Christ Jesus our hope;"

Love is the closest we can ever come to being like God because God is love -
I John 4:8 "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."

Love is the first and greatest commandment -
Mark 12:30-31 "and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."

Love is necessary for all our duties for Christ -
I Corinthians 13:1-3 "If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. And if I have [the gift of] prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And if I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing.

Love is inspired of God's love -
I John 4:19 "We love, because he first loved us."

Love is proof of our discipleship -
John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Love is of God -
I John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God."

Love is made perfect -
I John 4:17 "Herein is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world."

If we love God, everything that happens to us will turn out for the good -
Romans 8:28 "And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, [even] to them that are called according to [his] purpose."

Jesus expressed the greatest love known by giving His life that we might be saved -
John 13:15 "For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you."
