How many calories do exercises burn?

Weight loss occurs when a calorie deficit occurs. A calorie deficit can be created by consuming fewer calories than your body is burning; or by burning more calories than your body is consuming. Consuming fewer calories than your body needs is by far the least beneficial way to lose weight when you compare it with burning calories with exercise. When you try to lose weight by consuming fewer calories alone. Your body will be likely to adapt by slowing down its metabolism; you will need fewer calories; then if you return to your old calorie consumption patterns, you will be likely to regain the weight you lost and possibly end up weighing more than you weighed before you lost weight because now you are consuming the same amount of calories you used to consume, but, your metabolism is slower. When you look at the following lists regarding how many calories do exercises burn you may become discouraged and think that isn't that many calories; I would have to do an awful lot of exercise in order to reach my goals. You may think it's not worth it. When you are considering whether or not you should exercise extensively to lose weight you should consider more than just how many calories you will burn from doing the exercises.

Be very much aware that one pound of muscle requires 35 calories per day to be maintained and one pound of fat requires 2 calories per day to be maintained. The more muscle you build with exercise; the more calories you will need to eat. Reducing body fat and gaining muscle mass dramatically changes your daily needs for calories. Doing cardiovascular exercises burns more calories during the exercise than strength training exercises do; however, strength training exercises have a much more long term calorie burning effect because increasing your muscle mass will dramatically increase your bodies need for calories.

Cardiovascular exercises and strength training exercises both have dramatic positive effects on your health. People who do cardiovascular exercises, strength training exercises and reduce their calorie consumption a reasonable amount are much more likely to lose weight fast than people who try to lose weight by using only 1 of the 3 methods.
