Remember these tragic deaths by mindless beatings of little children: Delcelia Witika, James Whakaruru, Tangaroa Matiu, Coral Burrows, Saliel Aplin, Olympia Jetson, Mereana Edmonds, Lillybing: none featured married biological parents; six of these were killed by what the media termed the “step-father”. Live-in boyfriend was the more accurate term.
