Frequently Asked Questions
If
you have concerns or a question about purchasing products from an internet
store then e-mail at through Contact
Us Page listed
under the browser on the left hand side of each page. You can e-mail directly
from that page. We will answer any questions you have within 24 hours.
Q.
Is my purchase safe over an Internet Store?
A. If your browser
supports a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol (which is currently Microsoft
Internet Explorer, AOL, Netscape and other browsers), then check, credit and
debit card information entered on the Order Form, is encrypted before it is
sent from your computer to the internet. We will take great precautions with
commercial grade firewall and anti-virus technology to make sure that every
transaction is virtually impossible to be seen by prying eyes over the
internet. Most people do not think a thing about handing their credit or
debit card to a waiter while dining out! Or handing their card to a clerk
at a gas station. They can easily record your information very effectively. Now
that is incredibly risky.
Q.
Why should I buy a Fire Pit?
A. Grilling,
relaxation, romance, great spot for friends and family to gather on chilly
nights. People love the mesmerizing effect of a warm, dancing flame. An
outdoor fire pit or fireplace offers protection from flying sparks with the
use of a screen housing. The more elegant, glass re-inforced concrete pits
use natural or LP gas technology which offers a beautiful, warm flame through
realistic ceramic logs. No sparks, cinders or ash to clean up with this type
of fire pit.
Q.
What is a Fire Pit?
A. A fire pit,
chimenea or fireplace is a special device that safely contains a fire for
cooking, heating or relaxation or recreation. An ideal pit has protective
screening for the protection of your friends and family. Chimineas are special
fire pits that have an opening like a fireplace and also have a chimney
directing the smoke up and away. Lids and covers are available to protect your
investment from water accumulation. And, a lid is an effective way to
extinguish a fire when it is time to end a night of pitting. Most people do
not realize that rain will mix with any left over ashes and make a mess of
their pit. Then they come back and order a lid or plastic cover. We can only
suggest using protective shielding, lids or covers that offered with your fire
pit.
Q.
What precautions do I need to excercise in the use of my Fire Pit?
A. Common sense
things: Avoid dry grass and stored dry firewood and other combustables. Do
not set a fire pit with iron legs on a surface that can be damaged or on a
combustable surface.
Do not put too much wood in your fire pit or fireplace. If you do
not have a screen
then consider windy nights and fire pits as non-compatable. Air-born cinders
and sparks can cause damage to your property. Protect your wooden decks and do
not place a fire pits near wooden railing or near a deck fence. And, by all
means, do not
use a fire pit in a house or even a garage. The fumes contain carbon monoxide,
a colorless, ordorless gas, whcih can injure or kill in closed spaces. Do not
use wood that has been treated for resistance to rot and insects. The
chemicals used in pressure treated or insect resistant wood products are toxic.
Do not cook food over imitation logs. Imitation
pressed logs are for burning and enjoying... not for cooking foods.
Use real wood or charcoal for cooking. Of course, we suggest cleaning your
grill after each use.
Q.
