Take a moment to read about our FirePit.com furniture: Our furniture is made from the Yellow Balau tree. The Yellow Balau's botanically name is SHOREA SPP. Yellow balau has its origin in Southeast Asia where it is very plentiful in a number of countries. It has high density very durable and is very adaptable to changing weather conditions. If left untreated the yellow balau will finish to a soft gray. To maintain its original color you must apply one coat of teak oil seasonally.

• Shorea has many of the same properties found in teak, but it is a much stonger, denser and heavier wood than teak
• Teak is endangered and the very plentiful yellow balau tree provides less expensive wood but better properties
