Thanksgiving

Psalm 100
A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Praises of the Lord is a shout of joy. We praise Him joyfully as God creator and Shepherd. We give thanks because He is good, loving, and forever faithful. In these verses, there are three reason for praise.

1) The Lord is God. He alone created the universe and therefore, is Lord of Creation.

2) God made us in His image. We are not our own makers.

3) God shepherds His people. He is involved intimately in His people's lives.

Thanksgiving is a vital part of our coming together to worship Him. His good, loving, faithfulness remains the same forever. We can count on Him.

We need to take a close look at all the blessings that come to our lives! We have so many things to be thankful for. This 100th Psalm, we praise Him joyfully as God, Creator, and Shepherd. We give thanks because He is good, loving, and forever faithful. Because God created us we belong to Him. We find joy in the relationship because the creator God is our good loving Shepherd.

We can be thankful for so many things with what God permits us to have. But, we also should be thankful for back-sets, if we learn a lesson from them that helps us to bring about good changes in our lives. I'm so thankful that Gods' loving faithfulness remains the same forever. I can count on Him, that regardless of how bad off we might think we are health-wise or whatever, we should look around and we will find others in worse shape. Yes, we should be thankful.
