PRAY DAILY: Talking with God is very important in order to keep your communication open with Him. Please go to our pages on prayer to learn more about how to pray and what God says about prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

READ GOD’S WORD DAILY: As a new believer, you probably should start in the Gospel of John and Romans, from the New Testament, and the book of Psalm, from the Old Testament. There are also many great websites with devotionals (you can start with this one) and sermons. In addition, you can go to a Christian bookstore for Bible studies and devotional books that have daily readings. Make reading, studying and memorizing scripture a priority in your life. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

ATTEND CHURCH REGULARLY: Find a church where the Bible is taught, preached, shared, believed in, and where you feel God is leading you. Get actively involved in serving God through this church. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

SEEK OUT A GOOD BIBLE STUDY GROUP: If the church you attend does not offer a good Bible study group, contact other churches in your area or check the newspaper to see what is available. Many churches have small groups that meet during the week to read and discuss various topics that will help you deal with specific areas of growth in your life. 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

SHARE YOUR FAITH: As you grow in your walk with God, you will find you will want to share your joy with others. You can share with family and friends about the changes God has made in your life. In addition, keep the plan of salvation with you to share and leave with them. You can even leave tracts with them or even leave tracts in places where others could find and read. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Matthew 10:32-33 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

LISTEN TO CHRISTIAN MUSIC, READ CHRISTIAN BOOKS, & WATCH GODLY PROGRAMS: What goes into your brain through your senses, such as what you see and hear, will have an influence on your actions. 1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. DO SOMETHING: Get involved in a ministry group, whether it is through your church or another Christian organization. Be open to what God would have you to do, whether it is in an organized group or your own personal ministry. Ask God to lead you in the direction He wants you to go. 1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
