Now I have to start a business. The problem was that my background was in chemistry, I didn't know a thing about how to start a business or what kind of business to start. So I continued reading books about different businesses. I heard about this book titled "Multiple Streams of Income" by Robert Allen. Robert Allen made his first million in the 1970's doing real estate. He then made even more money by writing a best seller titled "Nothing Down" that described how he became successful in real estate.
Since then Robert Allen has made millions of dollars through different businesses and investments. "Multiple Streams of Income" teaches us that financial security is not within a job, because at any moment a job can be taken away. Financial security is found by having as many different streams of income possible in case you lose your job or your stock loses its value. You still will have other income coming into your household.
In his book Allen tells us about different income streams that we should start. Chapter 11 was titled "Network Marketing". Personally I didn't want to do network marketing! I am not a salesman and I had tried an MLM back in 1996 that didn't really work out, but I had learned so much from this book up until this point I felt Robert Allen's perspective on the subject deserved my attention. Besides THIS MAN WAS A MILLIONAIRE! Who was I to turn a deaf ear!
So I read it. You know what happened next, he changed my mind. Out of all the different streams of income Allen has, including real estate and book selling. Allen said that he will always be apart of a network marketing company because this is the best money that he has ever made because of the power of residual income. Once you get the stream flowing, it will eventually take a life of its own. One day you wake up and THE CHECKS ARE COMING IN WHETHER YOU HAVE DONE ANY WORK OR NOT! It will get to the point where you couldn't stop the checks if you wanted to!
