Yes, there are alternatives to carpet-covered cat condos: our new, modern and fashionable cat condo is made from steel and uses a special blend of cotton and foam for kitty to scratch on.
Our unique cat condo is available in 2 sizes and 2 colors. Shown on the left is the small cat condo in beige. The color shown on the big cat condo above is called dark chocolate.
Unique and different are the scratch pads. While the thought of fabric might not seem like the ideal choice for a cat scratch post, this cross-woven cotton has been tested by "Mischka" and shows that special fabrics do work!
Made from medium density foam, the pads are covered with cross-woven cotton. Additional inner support comes from particle board and water-soluable glue.
Shown on the right is a picture that shows the difference between our new foam pads and carpet.
We also show your kitty's claws and how they would appear in both the carpet and our foam as they scratch.
Note how deep the claws reach. The carpet sample shows that the claws can reach thought the carpet fibers (mostly acrylic), the metal staples, the plastic carpet backing and the floorboards.
The foam sample shows that the claws penetrate the cross-woven fabric and the high-density and penetrable foam. The claws do not reach the fiberboard backing.
Our foam scratch pads can be rotated to ensure that the pads are "scratched and clawed" evenly. This should only be necessary if your feline is a very ambitious scratcher.
The frame of our fun cat condo is made from steel. The feet of are covered with a scratch resistant foam to ensure that your hardwood floor gets no scratches. The color of our steel frame is called silver powder.
