Fairfield manufactures three types of pillow inserts providing you with a wide choice of sizes and range of firmness for crafting and home decorating needs. All pillows are designed with a knife-edge and will remain plump through continued washing.



Crafty DECOR® Chair Cushion
Create custom covered chair cushions to coordinate with a room setting. The packaging includes one chair cushion and complete instructions for making a ruffled edge or a plain edge cover. Fabric is not included.

Conveniently sized at 15" x 18", this insert is made to fit most styles of chairs. Filled tightly with Poly-fil Supreme® 100% polyester fiber, the chair cushion insert is soft, supportive and comfortable. The durable cover, a high quality blend of polyester and cotton, can be used as is or custom covered with fabric.

Batting
Batting
Batting is a non-woven product used for quilts, wall hangings, quilted clothing, home décor accessories and other craft projects.

Fairfield utilizes two manufacturing processes to produce quilt batting; a needlepunch process and a bonding process. Selection of a particular batting involves personal preference and should take into consideration the differences in loft and drape produced by each manufacturing process. There are also differences based on the fiber content of the batting. Fairfield produces several 100% polyester battings, a 100% cotton batting and an 80%/20% polyester/cotton blended batting. Guidelines are given to aid selection. Each batting contains a bonus pattern inside the package. These patterns change frequently, so be certain to look for new ideas in each purchase.

Brand names include: Low-Loft®, Extra-Loft®, Hi-Loft®, Traditional, Ultra-Loft®, Cotton Classic®, Soft Touch®, Natural Cotton®, Crafter’s Choice®.

Polyester Needlepunched Batting
The needlepunch process begins by combing or carding the fibers into a layer. Once combed, the fibers are laid into a blanket form, layer upon layer until a desired weight is achieved. Next, the layers of polyester fiber are passed through a series of tiny, barbed needles that move up and down through the fibers to lock them together. The resulting batting has a dense, even consistency that is easy to handle. The recommended distance between quilting rows is no more than 2-4 inches.ester Needlepunched Batting

Polyester Bonded Batting
The bonding process begins by combing or carding the fibers called carding or garnetting. Once combed, the fibers are laid into a blanket form, layer upon layer until a desired weight is achieved. Next a light resin coating is applied to both sides of the batting and the batting is cured to set the resin. This process produces a batting with a light, airy appearance and a resistance to fiber migration. There are several lofts or heights of bonded batting available ranging from ¼ inch to 1 inch in height. The recommended distance between quilting is no more than 2-4 inches.

For those quilters who want cotton batting, there are three choices available from Fairfield. Each has its own unique properties, but each retains the comforts of cotton and yet is easy to use. The recommended distance between quilting rows is no more than 2-4 inches.

Shipping
We use UPS for shipping on individual quilt batt. This site will not calculate the shipping cost until after you have put in your zip code. We have to know where you are to know the cost. All other providers use UPS except Buffalo Batt and Mountain Mist and Hobbs which all use DHL.
