Simone4Children Simone grew up in a small community on the outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica. Her mother worked hard to keep the family fed, clothed, and in school despite financial difficulties. Simone received scholarships to play at Seminole Junior College and later at the University of Iowa. In 1997 Simone joine dthe New York Liberty WNBA team, and later became one of the founding players of the Seattle Storm. During the "off-season", Simone has played for teams in Israel and Italy. Simone Edward's home town in Jamaica (and many others) have recently suffered from the devastating effects of recent hurricanes and tropical storms. Many who are already struggling lost what little they had in the storms.
