Your pet is a living creature that does not speak up when he or she is uncomfortable. Please think about the following when comparing any company's dog carriers, cat carriers or pet carriers:
-
Do the carriers have a support structure to protect and maintain the carriers interior space for your pet when it is compressed, such as under an airplane seat? Are the structural pressure points reinforced?
- Are the carriers balanced and level for both your comfort and and for your cat, dog or other pet?
-
Are the materials suitable and closures secure to prevent an accidental runaway? Is there a security mechanism within the carriers to restrain your cat or dog when needed?
-
Do the carriers offer proper ventilation and protection? Do they allow the pet privacy and eye contact with you when needed?
-
Are they constucted of safe & non-toxic materials with no loose parts inside?
-
Are the contact areas properly padded and straps adjustable? If not, you will feel it!
-
Is there enough storage for your travel needs? You don't want to carry too many bags and lose the one your pet is in!
-
Are the carriers suitable and safe for your travel method?
Here are 4 steps to help you choose your dog carriers, cat carriers or pet carriers
STEP
1: Consider Your Intended Usage:
-
How often will you use the carrier?
-
Why and how are you traveling?
-
How long must the pet be inside?
-
Which carrying method(s) will be most suitable - by hand, on your shoulder, evenly on your back or securely in the front?
STEP 4: Consider Your Pet's Temperament:
-
Is your pet nervous when left alone?
-
Will you need to take him or her with you often?
-
Is your pet afraid of the dark?
-
Does he or she get nervous in a small space or feel secure?
-
Do you have a hyperactive furry
friend?
For a superior experience with your new Celltei® dog carrier, cat carrier or bird carrier:
1. Never
push your pet inside a new carrier and expect him or her to be cooperative
during the trip! Most pets love to be with you all the time. If you start
introducing a good pet carrier when he or she is young, there are few places
you can't go with your pet. You can enjoy a full meal in a restaurant, watch a
movie or shop as frequently you want.
2. For
the chewers, to minimize damage to the zipper, a customer suggested leaving a
toy inside to keep your pet busy and you may also apply some 'Bitter Apple'
along the zipper teeth to discourage these activities.
3. If
your pet is very calm, you can use smaller size pet carrier. But for the
curious one, you may want a larger size to allow him or her free movement.
4. If
you must keep your pet inside the carrier for hours, open the front window
flap and roll up all size curtains for better eye contact with you.
5. In
case your pet is nervous, unzip front window mesh enough to reach your hand
inside to pet and calm him or her down. Keep the front window flap down to
keep the viewing to minimum. All our carriers use zippers with auto-locking
devices to prevent them from sliding open unless the zipper head is pulled.
6.
When it is very hot or cold, utilize the
climate control compartment and insert a cooling or heating pad. If you cannot
find a suitable size pad, use a thin towel to wrap around the one you find and
place it atop or between the floor padding and plastic board inside the
waterproof floor trap. It will help your pet to stay comfortably inside.
7. Many pet lovers adopt a rescued pet that may have been traumatized. Consider roomier dog carriers for your pet to curl up and hide. A darker interior and a
stronger fabric may also be a good idea in this case.
8. For the hyperactive ones, bring a few more treats to reinforce good behavior.
