Gluten Free Recipes
Gltuen Free Gravy
Making Gravy or White Sauce
Ingredients:
• 2 tspns Bendy Bread Mix
• ½ cup gluten free stock of
choice or Milk
Method:
Mix flour and liquid together
until well blended.
GRAVY TIPS: To make your
gravy you can simply use the brown ‘crispy bits’ in the bottom of the pan
after you have cooked your steak or roast.
Add water to loosen (the liquid
will turn a nice dark brown). Add salt, pepper, seasoning, wheat free sauces
to liquid.
Finally add in the stock and
bread mix with the ratio of 2 teaspoons to ½ cup of water.
Hint: If you are making
a roast, add in onions, they will brown and these can be made into your gravy
and will help make the gravy brown. Alternatively if you can not get your
gravy brown enough, CHEAT, and use a Queen product called Parisian Browning
Essence. A few drops will turn watery pale looking gravy, soup or broth into a
masterpiece.
WHITE SAUCE
TIPS: Mix your bread mix and milk to the same ratios as above. Add in any
flavouring, e.g. Salt, pepper, herbs, cheese or cream. Thicken in a pot over a
medium flame stirring regularly so as not to burn the base.
